Cut

Sylvie has perfected her cutting work on dry hair by combining her experience as a sculptor-graphic artist and her career as a studio hairstylist.

Cut= sculpture, face= architecture.

As she explains to everyone, the face is made of lines and volumes and within this architecture, harmony is always there but unique to every face. So, before she grabs her scissors, a big part of Sylvie's work is reading this harmony, which she will share with you in great details.

After this study of the face, it is important to focus on the natural substance of the hair. The hair is like a very pretty fabric of which movement and freedom must be preserved or brought back. A solid understanding of the matter is essential prior to a cut.

Only then, once the face and the matter have been understood can the shape of the cut be considered with some precision.

The cut is always done on dry hair, no exception. The shape of the cut is built without thinning out to preserve the matter, its density and to create volumes.
